Jess & Dan got married on a warm summers day in June. There is so much to tell you about as the day was filled with excitement and secrets.
Original Source : Zoe C Wedding Photography, RedbournJess got ready at The Grove in Hertfordshire with all of her girls and flower girls. The rooms are so easy to photograph in, with a quick sweep around tidying up a few bits from the morning I started photographing Jess’s dress. Jess designed her own dress and I have to say I have never photographed a dress like it, it was so outstanding and unique with a detailed bodice and layered train!
Only Jess’s twin sister Hayley and mum had seen the dress so we did some sneaky work hiding it behind the bridesmaids when we took some piccies before they all put their bridesmaids dresses on.
While I was at The Grove photographing Jess, my wonderful assistant Ami headed over to Dan’s family home to capture him and the guys getting ready and trying to put the ribbons on the car 😉
From the Grove Jess and the girls traveled to St.Lawrences Church Abbots Langley (one of my favourite churches) for the ceremony. Each lady had a gent to walk her down the aisle before the grand reveal of Jess & her Dad. Dan looked smitten as Jess approached him to the sound of the choir and string quartet.
After the ceremony, some close family shots and one long confetti aisle we headed back to The Grove to continue the celebrations. The grounds at The Grove are absolutely beautiful with lots of hidden places to capture Jess & Dan with their guests. During the drinks reception they had a magician surprising guests with some very amazing card tricks!
Once we had finished some lovely shots of Jess & Dan they all headed in for dinner and here we waited for the secret surprise! Jess, her sister and mum had planned a great surprise for Dan and the wedding guests…The Singing Waiters! I photographed another Wedding last April who had singing waiters and I clocked one of the guys from this wedding mingling during the reception so knew what was coming our way.
The Singing Waiters are amazing and so so funny! They usually start just after the main course has been cleared and this gives everyone a little rest before pudding is served. The guests faces as the waiters start singing is brilliant. In this instance Dan’s face was a picture! He did not look happy with them and it took a little while for him to twig that his Bride had set him up 🙂 Everyone laughed and sung along with them for the next half an hour and there were some very embarrassed faces when the waiters picked on them haha!
At the end of the meal the speeches started which provided a lot of laughing, joking, tears of joy and sadness and embarrassing stories! From here on the party started with reception guests arriving for a photo booth, chocolate fountain and goodies and lots of dancing.
Jess & Dan your wedding was nothing short of amazing and I wish you both many years of happiness and hope to see you again for more fun as the years go by!
