Can the Care Group help with shopping?
One minibus visits Sainsbury’s in Woodall Farm twice a week to assist residents who would not otherwise be able to travel to a large supermarket.
If you need to get to the village shops, then our minibus collects clients each Thursday morning. Call the office if you need this service. There maybe a waiting list until a place becomes available.
Care Group Office is open at the Village Hall between 9.30- 12.00 Mon to Fri or call 01582 794550. Please give at least 48 hours notice for lifts wherever possible.
The bellringers of St Mary’s, Redbourn, regularly ring the church bells, on Sunday mornings 9 – 9.30 and usually at least once a month from 6 – 6.30pm for the Sunday evening service.
We need more bellringers and would welcome any aspiring or lapsed ringers to come to one of our Tuesday evening practice sessions which begin at 7.45 pm.
Young people generally need to be at least 12 years of age or tall and strong enough to handle our bells. Adults of all ages are also welcome as long as they are able to manage the spiral staircase to the belfry.
Bellringers is a sociable hobby, which keeps you fit body and mind. It takes several months to learn to ring a bell, and years to develop expertise, but don’t let this put you off. Think of it as a challenge! If you would like to learn to ring, we can teach you.
